Qatar Intercepts Nine Iranian Attack Drones, One Lands Safely

(MENAFN) Qatari authorities reported on Saturday that nine out of ten Iranian attack drones were successfully intercepted, while one drone crashed in an uninhabited area without causing any injuries.

The Qatari Defense Ministry stated that the country faced assaults involving 10 drones from Iran since dawn.

According to the statement, nine of the drones were neutralized, and the remaining one landed harmlessly in a deserted location.

The ministry emphasized that Qatari forces possess the capabilities and resources required to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and territory, and it urged residents and visitors to stay calm and adhere to official guidance.

Since February 28, Iran has launched missiles and drones targeting Israel and Gulf nations that host U.S. military assets. Some of these attacks have resulted in casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure, including ports and residential buildings.

Tehran claims that the strikes are in retaliation for a U.S.-Israeli military campaign against Iran, which has killed hundreds of people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior military officials.
